Personal branding for founders, without the cringe.

A field guide for founders, doctors, artists, and quiet experts who deserve to be seen but don't want to sound like everyone else.

I work with quiet experts. People who are great at what they do but whose work is invisible online. Founders. Dermatologists. Artists. Athletes. Marketing leaders. People whose offline credibility hasn't translated into their digital footprint.

Every conversation about personal branding starts the same way: "I don't want to be that person on LinkedIn." Fair. Most personal brand content is bad. The good news is the way out isn't quieter posting. It's a different angle.

The trap most personal brands fall into

Most personal brand advice tells you to "share your journey", "post every day", "show vulnerability". That advice is right at the surface and wrong underneath. It's right because frequency and authenticity do compound. It's wrong because it skips the part that actually matters: what slice of your story is the one you want to be known for.

If you start with "I'll just share more", you end up performing whichever version of yourself gets the most engagement. Six months in, you don't recognise the person on your feed. The cringe people fear isn't from posting. It's from posting a version of themselves they don't believe.

Start with the angle, not the post

Before you write anything, answer two questions:

Until both of those are clear, posting more is just noise.

Three pillars, not seventeen content categories

Once the angle is clear, content gets easier. Pick three pillars. Stick to them for a year.

The pillars should answer: What do you do? Why do you do it? How do you do it?

For a founder I work with, the three pillars are: "Inside a 50-person agency", "What I've learned across 100+ brands", and "Lessons from being a restaurateur first". Everything she posts maps to one of those three. The system is the discipline.

The right cadence is the one you can keep for a year

People over-index on daily posting. The cadence that compounds is the one you can keep for a year without burning out. For most quiet experts, that's 3 to 5 posts a week. Not 1 (you fade). Not 7 (you flame out).

Within that, mix:

The team behind the brand

If you're a founder running a business, you should not be writing all your own posts. You'd never write your own ads. Same logic applies. Find someone who can sit with you, listen, and translate. They write the draft, you edit it in your voice, you publish.

The work is yours. The keyboard isn't.

Press, podcasts, and partnerships

Posting on LinkedIn or Instagram is the loud layer. The quiet layer is press, podcasts, and partnerships. That's where you reach audiences you don't already own.

How long until it works

Followers and reach start moving in 60 to 90 days. Real outcomes (brand deals, speaking gigs, inbound clients, hires) typically land in 6 to 12 months. Personal brand is a compounding asset, not a paid campaign.

If you'd like a hand putting any of this in place, the personal branding offering is built around exactly this. The work starts with a long conversation about what you actually want to be known for. Then the engine gets built around that.
