I set up Claude to find 10 restaurant leads on Google every day at 7 in the morning. It reads each restaurant's website, understands their story, and finds the founder's name and email. Then it writes a very specific email and saves it as a draft in my Gmail. At 7:30 I get a notification. I just go and send.
You can use Claude to do the slow part of cold outreach for you: finding leads, researching each one and writing the first draft. I set it up so that every day at 7 in the morning it finds 10 restaurant leads on Google. It reads each restaurant's website, finds the founder's name and email, writes a very specific email and saves it as a draft in my Gmail. At 7:30 I get a notification. I just go and send.
Someone asked me on a call which AI tool I actually use. Right now it is Claude, mainly Claude Cowork and Claude Code. I have been obsessed with it. One weekend I spent two full days inside it, just asking: okay, what can we do? Can I do this? This outreach system is one of the things that came out of that weekend.
What does the system do every morning?
One of my companies, Leo Marketing Co, focuses mainly on social media marketing for restaurants. So I need a steady flow of restaurant owners to talk to.
Every day at 7 in the morning, Claude finds 10 leads on Google. Then it goes to the individual website of each restaurant. It reads the story and the context of the place. It finds the name of the founder and the founder's email from the internet.
Then it drafts an email written to that one person. It is not a template with a name swapped in. It mentions what they have just kicked off and what they care about. Then it goes into my Gmail and creates a draft.
At 7:30 every morning, I get a notification that the drafts are ready. I open Gmail and go send, send, send, send, send.
Why does the email need to feel so personal?
The whole point is the specificity. When the owner reads it, I want them to think: this person must have taken 30 minutes to understand my world before writing this. That is the kind of email I want going out with my name on it.
Selling and outreach are the things I really do in my company. How do you find actual clients, people who really close, not fluff? So I care a lot about the quality of that first message.
The AI does the research and the first draft. I keep the last step. The system puts drafts in my inbox. It does not send on my behalf. I am still the one pressing the button.
How do you set Claude up to do this?
Download Claude, then buy the Pro version. It will give you the option to switch to Cowork, and it will download a desktop app with Cowork inside it.
Cowork is different from a normal chat. With a chatbot, you are chatting with somebody. Cowork lives on your computer. It creates its own little sandbox there, and each conversation sits in folders. You can dump all your stuff in, tell it to organise the folder, and it will go in and create subfolders on your computer.
Because it lives on your computer, you can link it with your calendar, your Gmail, everything. That is how it can drop drafts straight into my inbox.
There is also something inside Claude called Dispatch. If I am in the car, I can tell it to start researching something. It creates a folder on my computer and starts pulling data into it.
The way I understand it: when you talk to an AI chat, you are talking to an agent. Tools like Claude Code are tools to control agents. You give it a task, it creates its own to-do list and it checks its own work. It is multiple agents talking to each other. That is why it can run a whole routine like this on its own.
For the actual setup, watch a couple of YouTube videos. Search "Claude Cowork setup". There are some brilliant ones that take you through the entire thing. Do a one-hour video and then you can do it.
Do you need to be technical, and what does it cost?
I have zero tech knowledge. I understand marketing and I love AI, so I stay curious and keep asking what more it can do. That is how this got built. You just keep playing.
If you have spent years in ChatGPT, you do not lose that work. I asked Claude what to do, and it told me where in ChatGPT I could export every conversation and every prompt I had ever done. I put the export in a folder, Claude sat and read everything, and then it told me how I normally prompt. I had also given it two years of my own recordings, everything I have said, as a kind of second brain.
On cost: yes, you have to pay for it. For me it was $20, and I think it is the best $20 you will ever spend.
What else can the same setup do?
The same idea works after a call. When I finish a call, I can tell Claude to go to my Fireflies notes, understand what the call was about, draft a checklist of what we need to do next week, draft the follow-up email in Gmail and create a Google Sheet to keep track. It does all of that and puts it in my drafts.
The use cases are endless. You just need to keep figuring them out.
Then I switch off. I don't work on Saturday or Sunday. Last Sunday we went and bought some plants for the house. The system keeps running at 7 the next morning either way.
“So every morning at 7:30 it sends me a notification that the drafts are ready.”
